Linergy has published its environmental statement in relation to a planning application for a proposed extension to its existing rendering facility, it was announced today.
The environmental statement, which has been prepared in accordance with the provisions of the Planning (Environmental Impact Assessment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1999, assesses the environmental impacts of the proposed development.
The proposed development includes the construction of a state-of-the-art anaerobic digestion and thermal processing facility to produce renewable energy. By investing in the most advanced technology Linergy is giving Northern Ireland’s agri-food some of the best green credentials in Europe. This is a significant competitive factor in the eyes of national and international customers and is crucial for the future survival and competitiveness of the agri-business sector.
Richard Moore, Managing Director of Linergy said:
“The environmental statement provides a full explanation of the processes and environmental benefits that will result from the development at Linergy located in Granville Industrial Estate. The £18m extension will not only secure local jobs but make an important contribution to the environment.”
The environmental statement was submitted in late March 2009 and a reference copy is available in the local library. For further information on Linergy’s future plans please refer to ‘what we do’ section of the website.
